About the Faculty of Business, Communication Studies and Aviation
The Faculty of Business, Communication Studies & Aviation comprises the Bissett School of Business, the School of Communication Studies and the Aviation Program. The Bissett School of Business offers a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with majors in accounting, human resources, general management (with concentrations in innovation and entrepreneurship, social innovation). Students in the Bissett School of Business can take a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. The Aviation Program is housed in the Department of International Business, Supply Chain and Aviation and offers a two-year Aviation Diploma and the newly launched four-year Bachelor of Aviation Management. Students in the School of Communications Studies take a four-year Bachelor of Communication Studies (BComms) and can pursue majors in Broadcast Media Studies, Information Design, Journalism and Public Relations. In addition to the two degrees and their majors, students are offered a variety of minors, concentrations and certificates to complement their major.
About the Role
The Department of Broadcast Media Studies and Journalism Digital Media, Faculty of Business, Communication Studies, and Aviation at Mount Royal University invites applications for several part-time sessional appointments for Winter 2026 which will commence 5 January and end on 29 April 2026.

BMST 2404 - Creative Media Production
Lecture Hour(s): 1 + Tutorial Hour(s): 2
Course Description: Following on other course work in the program, students will further enhance their abilities to produce in-studio audio, on-location audio, and creative video projects. Students will develop practical writing, operational skills, and will concentrate on client relations, advertising production, as well as director and producer roles and responsibilities.

Qualifications
Master's degree minimum (exception labs and non-credit courses) in Communication or adjacent fields.
Capacity to work collaboratively across multiple sections of a course.
Previous undergraduate teaching or teaching-equivalent experience.
Course-specific experience required:
Work experience in broadcast and online advertising – writing and production.
Experience in managing client relations.
Experience preferred:
Min. 3 years of creative industry experience.

BMST 2405 - Broadcast Presentation
Lecture Hour(s): 1 + Tutorial Hours: 2 X 2
Course Description: This course introduces students to the various styles of broadcast media presentation (voice acting, voice over, anchoring, hosting etc.). Students will develop their own voice and presentation potential for broadcast media, as well as learn to guide and direct the vocal and presentation talents of others. This course is all about communicating and presenting oneself, whether in one-to-one or one-to-many contexts.

Responsibilities for all positions
Instruction: course delivery including preparation of course outlines, other course materials, course activities, lesson preparation and assessments, and course learning management systems.
Administration: administer final exams, input final grades upon course completion, and participate in course-related meetings, as required.
